This is the time of year where your complexion is in need of a little refresher.
Let’s get our scrub on and remove the old dull skin, and in with the
lighter and brighter. Effective exfoliation will leave your skin with a
smoother texture and increase your serums or creams absorption. Let’s go
pro and scrub in on the options available.
There are many different modalities that penetrate the skin further than
topical treatments. They smooth bumps, diminish discoloration, treat fine lines
and target acne. Make sure to do your homework and select a Board Certified
Plastic Surgeon, Dermatologist or an Aesthetician working under the guidance
of a Doctor for your skin needs
Microdermabrasion
This non-invasive procedure that gently exfoliates the skin to diminish signs of
aging. The microderm machine may use tiny crystals or a tip that varies in
coarseness to smooth the skin. Afterwards, your skin may feel slightly
sunburned for a day or two.
Dermaplaning
A qualified expert uses a blade to remove dead layers of skin. This procedure
decreases dull, dry skin by safely removing it and the bonus is a flawless baby
fuzz free face.
Peels
Chemical Peels involve AHA and BHA’s. There are different percentages for
mild to higher corrective strengths. The chemical is applied for several minutes
And then removed. Recovery will vary depending on strengths.
Results afterwards will leave the skin radiant.
Fractional Lasers
This is the most efficient way to change the texture of the skin and
stimulate collagen. The downside is the recovery is longer. This type of
treatment triggers a wound response, causing the skin to trigger the cells
to repair and produce new cells. Your skin will swell and be red for a few
days with peeling as well. Expect a week or two of recovery. Results
that are expected are a noticeable reduction in the components of sun
damaged skin, fine lines, wrinkles, and scarring.
Producing an even skin tone, tighter skin, and a thicker collagen layer as well.
